UVAS observed World Veterinary Day in befitting manner


The University of Veterinary and Animals Sciences Lahore observed World Veterinary Day in befitting manner at City Campus Lahore. Various activities including a walk, a seminar, free treatment and deworming camp, a snake show, cake-cutting ceremony and hands chain formation by faculty & students at outfall road featured to mark the day and create awareness about the welfare of animals in the community.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani led the walk while UVAS senior Tutor Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf and a large number of students and faculty members were participated. The walk started from in front of the Vice-Chancellor Office and culminated in front of UVAS main lawn.
Later a seminar was arranged to sensitize people about the importance of animal welfare, health, and treatment. In which experts urged the faculty members and students to work for this noble cause with full of dedication and they also spoke about the carrier opportunities in veterinary profession. World Veterinary Day also observed in UVAS sub campus Collage of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CVAS) Jhang.

Meanwhile in connection with the celebrations of World Veterinary Day different students societies of UVAS including Special Animals and Veterinary Emergency Relief Society (SAVERS), Vets Care Club (VCC) and Vet Crescent Society (VCS) organized free treatment and deworming camp at Satarwala village for livestock animals and also offered free extension services to farmers at their door step. In the camp, more than 700 small and large animals were dewormed & treated. A large number of students and faculty members participated in this activity.


In-service Professional Development Training of Ministerial Staff concludes at UVAS
LAHORE (30-04-18): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore arranged concluding ceremony of weeklong in-service professional development training to build capacity of ministerial staff. It was conducted under the project of “In-service Training Facility of Advance Veterinary Education and Professional Development for Veterinary Professionals” funded by Punjab Government here in City Campus Lahore.


Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani presided over the concluding session of the training and distributed certificates among participants while Associate Professor Dr Hafsa Zaneb and 20 participants (Junior Clerks) of training were present on the occasion.
Various aspects were discussed during weeklong training related to good governance, quality assurance in academics and research related activities, communication skills, purchase process, audit & accounts, writing skills, information technology equipment management and administrative skills etc.
